The mission of the AWS Student Committee is to develop resources to support, educate and inspire women medical students pursuing a career in surgery

How to Join

Association of Women Surgeons (AWS) Medical Student Committee is Seeking New Members

AWS is an international organization whose mission is to develop resources to support, educate, and inspire women medical students pursuing a career in surgery. Our major goals are three-fold: (1) Encourage women medical students to consider a career in surgery (2) Provide peer to peer networking for women medical students exploring a career in surgery (3) Facilitate the finding of surgeon mentors for women medical students.

Some of our current projects include improving the AWS mentorship program, developing a housing network for residency interviews, continuing the student poster session at the annual conference, distributing a student newsletter, membership expansion, and writing feature stories in AWS publications.
