Committees typically meet 3-6 times per year via 30-60 minute conference calls. You must be a current AWS member to serve on a committee. See full list of committees below.
Member Services Committee This committee will be discussing, planning and implementing programs that will be of benefit to the membership.
Publications Committee **NEW This committee will work with the AWS AJS Editorial Board members on the call for, submission, review and selection of manuscripts for publication in the annual November issue of the AJS and presentation at the AWS Fall Conference. We will contact you to submit your letter of interest and CV.
Clinical Practice Committee This committee focuses on information relevant to women in academic, private practice and military.
Communications Committee This committee is responsible for development and implementation of the AWS communications strategy, which includes social media.
2018 Conference Committee – Boston, MA This committee is responsible for developing the content for the Conference in Boston, MA currently scheduled for Saturday, October 20, 2018.
Grants and Fellowship Committee This committee reviews and determines winners of AWS Grants and the AWS Visiting Professor Program.
Resident & Fellows Committee This committee works on resident programs and issues. (Comprised primarily of residents)
Student Committee This committee works on student programs and issues.
Please note: committee members must be members of AWS. Applications for this committee are sent out to the membership and posted on the AWS website. Applications are reviewed in July of every year for consideration at that time. (Comprised of medical students)
Volunteer Leaders sought for consideration on the AWS Foundation Board of Trustees. The Board works to raise Foundation awareness and funds for the programs it supports. You will be contacted for your CV.
