AJS/AWS 2017
Call for Reviewers

Overview: The Association of Women Surgeons is actively seeking volunteers to review manuscripts for the annual American Journal of Surgery/Association of Women Surgeons issue. This issue has been a highly successful venue to underscore the important research of our membership.

AWS has been tasked to create a reviewer pool from which we can solicit manuscript reviews. Individuals who actively participate in the review process, with excellent performance metrics and reviews will be considered for membership in the newly formed Publications Committee. Among several functions, this Committee will develop promising reviewers for positions as Guest Editors for the AJS issue.

Approximate time commitment: The majority of reviews and re-reviews of revised articles will occur between February and May of each year. Volunteers may be asked to review between 1-4 articles during that time, depending on the topic range of the submitted manuscripts.

Recommended background & experience for the position: Please respond yes or no: do you have experience in manuscript preparation or original research? Have you participated in manuscript review of scientific journals?

How to volunteer: Please email Katie Nason and cc: Cat Wilson. Include your CV, level of training (i.e. student, resident, fellow, attending) and note in the email any areas of expertise for review purposes, such as trauma, critical care, breast, etc.

Thank you for supporting this terrific opportunity for the AWS!
