The Association of Women Surgeons is thrilled to announce the theme of the 2025 AWS Annual Conference, taking place in Chicago on Friday, October 3 and Saturday, October 4 - Women Surgeon Pioneers: Shaping the Future of Surgery! The AWS Planning Committee has been hard at work designing the conference schedule, including presentations by leaders in surgery, leadership development, networking events, and more. AWS is excited to share the 2025 Keynote speaker will be Dr. Callisia Clark!
Additionally, AWS will host a fireside chat with Alison Fragale, author of best selling book, Likeable Badass!
Call for Abstracts: AWS Starr Research Forum
Attention AWS student, resident, and fellow members! Don't miss your chance to present your work at the 2025 AWS Annual Conference in Chicago this fall. Submit up to two abstracts for the AWS Starr Medical Student and Resident Research Forum by May 15.
AWS Joint Sponsored Travel Awards
The Joint Sponsored Trave Award will cover the cost for a limited number of students and residents to attend the annual AWS Annual Conference. This year, the award will cover up to $750 towards registration, travel, and lodging costs to attend AWS’s in-person conference in Chicago, IL from October 3-4, 2025. AWS is proud to sponsor the Travel Awards in partnership with the following organizations:
- Society of Asian Academic Surgeons (SAAS)
- The Society of Black Academic Surgeons (SBAS)
- Latino Surgical Society (LSS)
- Association of Out Surgeons and Allies (AOSA)
